About Claudette

Early on I Knew the Truth About Myself

I was born a highly sensitive person although it would be decades until I realized the benefit of this.  At the age of nine I was already seeing auras and without knowing what I was doing I would perform ‘energy work’ and give spontaneous massages on my family members.

From an early age I felt driven to explore life and explore the world.  By age 18 I was out on my own having moved to the other side of the country and soon after traveled, lived and worked in Europe for five years, learning new languages, meeting new people and expanding my horizons.  Later my travels included Africa, Australia and Asia.

My formal education reflects that I was searching for something I couldn’t name for a long time; I went to Langara College in Vancouver to be a Social Work Assistant.  I attended Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, B.C where I took communications.  Not satisfied in the academic world I felt that I was a bit “ahead of my time”; I explored being a mid-wife but it was illegal in Canada at that time.

Prompted by a chance encounter with two Japanese nuns I moved to Japan in 1983.  The nuns embodied serenity, gentleness, and purity of heart.  They lived in a state of grace and I felt that I wanted to experience this more fully in their world and in their culture.

Finding My Way Home to Myself

Living in Japan was a complex and challenging experience; I didn’t speak the language when I first arrived and found it difficult to integrate myself into the culture.  But gradually and with great persistence I became comfortable and at home in the beautiful Japanese culture.  Then, very much by chance in 1986, while working for L’Oreal Cosmetics, I was reunited with the calling to do energy work that I’d felt so early on in life. I would give the other ladies in my department neck and shoulder massages.  This became my favorite part of the day and I recognized that I needed to learn more about energy and healing.

I began to travel regularly to the U.S. to take different courses in energy and healing work; I attended the Barbara Brennan’s School of Healing in New York for two years.  Then I took a 18 month course on energy at the School of Energy Mastery in Sedona Arizona.  I also took Cranial Sacral courses and psychology courses in Tokyo and a variety of body therapy and healing arts classes in Asia.

In 1996 I returned to live in Canada.  I had to wait 5 – 7 years for the cultural understanding and acceptance of energy work start catching up to where I was.

Living in the Present Stabilizes the Big Unknown

I’ve been giving workshops and providing energy healing now for over 25 years.  I built a business providing coaching, consulting and counseling with a strong focus on energy balance and personal authenticity.  Many of my clients are challenged with issues of anxiety and transition.  I support my clients to get focused on what really matters to them and provide them with the skills and tools they need to stay present in their own lives. This empowers them to make a difference for themselves, feel good, be happy and confident.  My passion is to see people evolve into the comfort of being themselves and delighted with their life.

Stepping Up.  Stepping In.  Stepping Out.

For the last couple of years I have found myself stretching even further into my most authentic life.  I am the co-author of “Energy Is Real!”   Also, I was president of my local Rotary chapter in 2008/2009.  Fulfilling that role enabled me to connect with my community in a very real and positive way.  It enhanced my leadership skills and played a big role in moving me toward doing more public speaking.

These days I find one of the most enjoyable focuses of my work in encouraging young people.  As with all my clients I love to support their innate wisdom and knowledge through counseling, energy work and by speaking to them in groups.

Through all the many experiences in my life, I have always listened to the hunches, intuitions and messages I felt that I received, even if I didn’t understand them at the time.  I believe this is something we all need to know how to do – to follow the guidance of our core inner selves.

Now and in the Future

I am now in the next phase of my spiritual journey.  I look forward to expanding my horizons while helping you do the same.
